When you cut an apple it starts becoming brown, but when you dip it in orange juice for some time than see the magic, it stays white for quite a long time. Our body process is same like an apple, if you start having antioxidants than you will stay younger for quite a long time.

 

Antioxidant are dietary substances including nutrients such as beta-carotene, vitamin C and E and selenium. Antioxidant prevents damage from oxygen. Some of the antioxidants are listed below with their rich sources:

  • Beta carotene is found in orange and yellow fruits and vegetables.
  • Lycopene found in tomatoes, watermelon, papaya and grapes.
  • Lutein and carotenoids are found in carrots and leafy green vegetables.
  • Polyphenol is present in dark chocolate.
  • Anthocyanin is found in blue and purple color fruits and vegetables.
  • Last but important Resveratrol antioxidant is present in skin of the grapes. Red wine provides this special antioxidant.

Antioxidant in food are only effective when had raw fruits and vegetables. Because Indian cooking method destroys this useful antioxidants from foods.
